Games

The Commodore 64

I am a bit of a games enthusiast, and in the past years have played plenty of them. I think that the first computer I ever owned, was the Commodore 64, complete with super-slow speed tape loader. Even though you could go away and make a cup of tea before a game would be loaded, the games themselves were rather addictive. I spent many hours playing a game called Feud, and Sport Of Kings, a racing game which me and my brother would yell at our favoured horses for hours on end. There were a lot a games which I recall fondly, Hustler, BMX Simulator, Impossimole, Bombjack, Chase HQ etc etc. Spy Vs Spy was also a particular favourite of mine. The next I had was a Spectrum I think, bought off a friend which also gave me fond memories.

The Amiga 500

Then, the Amiga 500 I owned. This was great, and I had plenty of games to play on it. Let's see, Bubble Bobble, Dynamite Dux, Rainbow Islands, New Zealand Story, Flimbo's Quest were among my platform favourites, along with a great little game called Flippit and Magnose. I remember playing Populous 2 a lot, and being rather good at it. Great satisfaction setting off an Armageddon and watching the opponents getting ground to a pulp. Even more fun lowering the land under the opponents feet and watching them drown. Heh heh. Such evil fun. The newest games were a complete letdown, especially the Amiga version of Streetfighter 2 and Body Blows. Tacky's not the word, especially since I was used to playing it on the Super Nintendo. Some other games I remember:

The Super Nintendo

My uncle was one of those people who bought every new machine on the market, which benefited me a great deal, I got to play on them all the time. Super Mario World was in my opinion, and still is, one of the best games ever. My all-time favourite has got to be Legend Of Zelda, Link's Awakening. Or was it Link To The Past? Both of them are great anyway. I also liked F-Zero and Sim City. I loved the SNES a great deal, it was fast, and there were plenty of good games on it. Still are, in fact. Here are some games I like/d:

The PC

I have missed out a lot of machines, namely, the Playstation, NES, MegaCD, PC Engine, Atari ST, Amstrad, Hand-Helds, and the Sega Saturn. These weren't greatly exciting and I can't be too bothered with the Playstation because I never play it. After a lull in gaming, it finally revived when my uncle finally bought his PC. Back then, it was a top-of-the-range 386 dx. Wow-ee. I was very impressed by the smooth graphics and speech, yes, speech!! His Roland soundcard did a lot for the Wing Commander 3 intro. Yes, yes I wanted one. especially when I started playing 7th Guest. BUT, I was disappointed, because I never did get one. I played his to death instead. Theme Park was the first game I ever bought for the PC. And I never regretted it. Next was Leisure Suit Larry 5? I can't remember now. But, it did start me on a mad gameplaying phase. I love a good adventure game, like LSL, Day Of The Tentacle, with a good interface. This stems from playing Secret Of Monkey Island. Another of my all-time favourites which I omitted to mention in the Amiga section. I also like a good horror/puzzle game e.g 7th guest, Shivers. Sims are good too, Sim City 2000, Transport Tycoon. Since I bought my PC, I have bought loads of games. I've compiled a list of most of them for your interest/boredom.
